2023-2025
Lighting the pedestrian mall in Voiron supports the redevelopment of the space, with the aim of creating a calmer environment and reinforcing its pedestrian character. The lighting design addresses a dual objective: facilitating nighttime movement while enhancing the identity of the pedestrian mall and the town centre.
To accompany pedestrian movement and animate the space, a custom-designed illuminated column was created. Its form incorporates a motif specially developed for the project, projecting random shapes onto the ground that evoke the rippling of water, in reference to the Morge River running through the centre of Voiron.
Light thus becomes an integral part of the urban design, giving the pedestrian mall a distinctive nighttime identity while supporting its uses and pathways.
