In the context of the international competition “London Illuminated River”, the agency LEA – Les Éclairagistes Associés went into partnership with quality associates to propose exceptional projects of luminous Design.

The aim of this competition was to suggest artistic, efficient, innovative and ecological solutions, showing the 17 bridges over the Thames in London off. A beautiful association between LEA – Les Éclairagistes Associés, Ecqi ltd et Federico Pietrella and in collaboration with GVA Lighting and EWO S.r.l, bringing complementary skills.  In the short list, the agency LEA – Les Éclairagistes Associés, was very proud and honored to participate in this prestigious competition and to be greeted for the quality of its lighting designs.

Les Éclairagistes Associés aimed to reduce the carbon footprint, to give priority to the use of green energy and to plan a high quality performance. The team has defined for this project, with its group of partners, a lighting system that uses green energy provided by nature, that of the tides. Wishing to be part of a sustainable and soft approach, the group of partners chose a progressive activation of the lighting which allows to follow the same inclination of the earth axis in relation to the sun. This advanced technology allows the lighting of the bridges to be switched on smoothly.

This process changes with the seasons, according to the natural movement of the planets.

The lighting concepts of London Bridge, Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge and Chelsea Bridge have been modeled.

This global project plays with light and shadow, designed to make the river’s course sparkle, caressing the landscape and its bridges.
